Moodboards

LAVABLE+MOOD+BOARD.jpg

The “LAVABLE” board was made during my final year of college and accompanies my senior collection. It is the most recent physical board I have put together, featuring fabric scraps, pieces of raku’d obsidian (process depicted on the top left), and hand-painted illustrations of my apparel designs. Personally, I read this one more like a “storyboard”- showing fragments of my process and how it ultimately came together.

The board above is a combination of style-forecasting, research and inspiration. This is my first digital moodboard created for a brand. It accompanies a jewelry collection entitled “LEAVING YOU” that I produced for Kerry Phelan Designs, of Brooklyn, NY to sell within her “fall drop” in November 2020.

I created the left side of this board with the intention of evoking an emotion from the viewer. I was challenging myself to make something in-line with Pinterest and Tumblr aesthetics- less fashion, more feeling. The right side is the opposite of that- showing pieces of my creation process. This board accompanies an experimental apparel piece: a screenprinted hoodie with functional chain for strings.

Made during my time at the London College of Fashion, this board communicates the whimsical, dreamy nature of designer Thierry Mugler’s work. The space on the top is empty to leave room for tangible materials- making it a combination of digital and physical design.

“FINCH ME I’M DREAMING” is a collection that never came to be- though the moodboard is still one of my favorites because of the vibrant colors. This board features photographs that I took myself, along with hand-painted pattern possibilities and a fashion illustration (intended to depict runway makeup) at the center.
